A bridge is a dental prothesis that fills a space that a tooth previously occupied. The teeth at the side of the missing area are trimmed and the bridge is cemented permanently to replace the missing teeth. Compared to other methods of replacing missing teeth, the bridge is significantly more comfortable than a denture and is cheaper than a dental implant.

A bridge may be necessary to prevent :

  • shifting of the teeth that can lead to bite problems (occlusion) and/or jaw problems and resultant of periodontal disease
  • bridge safeguard the integrity of existing teeth and help maintain a healthy, vibrant smile
